South House Farms is proud to offer a variety of quality bull Miniature Jersey bulls to those looking to breed their cattle. We have made an effort to have several different lines and qualities in our bulls and would be happy to assist in choosing the right bull for your needs. Our collection facility, Hawkeye Breeders Services, is renowned for putting forth high quality semen and excellent customer service. Since out semen is housed in the U.S. we will be able to continue selling and shipping semen even while we are traveling overseas.

Jewell's Little General - A2/A2

General is a lovely painted fellow with a great attitude and very good dairy type. He is buff/fawn with large white patches and has very good udder genetics and conformation. His mother is a very nice mid-sized cow and his sire is a lovely painted miniature. If you are looking to improve udder quality and add some nice color this might be a great bull for you. General has been consistently in the miniature height range since birth and is expected to mature well within the miniature height.

UPDATE: General's new owner reports that he is around 40 inches at 3 just shy of 3 years of age. He is an even tempered guy and we have added new pictures of him below.

The first 4 pictures of are of General taken between 15 - 18 months. The next is his sire (Sure Shot Ambassador) and his dam (Jersey Knoll Holly). The last 2 are General taken as a mature bull.

 South House Just My Luck - A2/A2 

Luck is a tiny little guy with a lot of offer the Miniature Jersey breed. He is A2/A2, heterozygous polled (will pass on the polled gene half of the time), has a great temperament, and comes from good milking lines. He is technically registered as purebred but is only 93.5% Miniature Jersey. This means that he has some diverse genes to offer for cows that are too closely linebred. Luck has been passing on his small size and has been primarily used on standard or mid-sized cows in order to bring the size of the calves down. He has been producing short, stocky claves with a really compact build. We have conventional semen available on this fine little bull. Luck is very dark colored in the photos, as a calf he was fawn and in reality has a lot of brown shading in his coat as well as the typical white line around the muzzle and light stripe down his poll and back. While his dark color comes through in his offspring sometimes it does not in others. Pictured below are some pictures of Luck's offspring.

 Sunshine Acres Integrity - A2/A2 

Integrity is a very fine bull owned by a friend. He is 41 inches at roughly 3 years old and now has some lovely calves on the ground. He is A2/A2, horned, has really nice conformation, and is a purebred Miniature Jersey. Integrity would be an ideal bull to breed to cows that are 42 inches and under in order to keep their size in that range. He comes from consistently sized cows and bulls and is producing nice miniature sized calves with a fine boned frame and great type. Integrity is a half brother to Loyal.

Step 2 - Add insurance if desired

Insurance is $10 per $500 of insurance. They will reimburse if the straws don't arrive safely. No protection for getting your cow bred, too many variables that we don't control.

Step 3 - Checkout. Be sure to tell us to whom, with an address, the semen should be shipped to in the instructions to seller

Note on Shipping

We will arrange shipping with the breeder services facility. They usually ship out on Mondays and Tuesdays, if you are close they may ship out on a Wednesday. If you have timing needs and you would like to arrange shipping directly with the facility make a note in the comments section. I will release the semen to you and you will just have to make a call when you want the stuff. Be sure you have a tank to store your straws and return the shipping container promptly. If you intend to pick up the semen directly from the facility in Adel, IA please let me know (sorhuscpa@gmail.com) and I can refund your shipping charge, or bill you directly for just the semen you desire.
